Phyllis Tickle and Brian McLaren Live Tonight

Tonight I have the distinct privilege of sharing in a conversation with Phyllis Tickle and Brian McLaren on the future of the Church. Given that these two are among the most creative and provocative voices in the church today, I’m really looking forward to our conversation tonight, which begins at 6:30 (CDT). And I’m especially delighted that we are live streaming it for free to anyone who is interested. You can go to the live stream simply by clicking this link which will take you to the YouTube page set up for the event.

Both Phyllis and Brian have written many, many worthwhile volumes. Most lately, Phyllis is the author of The Great Emergence: How Christianity Is Changing and Why and Emergence Christianity: What It Is, Where It Is Going, and Why It Matters. Among Brian’s best known books are A Generous Orthodoxy, A New Kind of Christianity, and Why Did Jesus, Moses, the Buddha, and Mohammed Cross the Road?: Christian Identity in a Multi-Faith World.

Part of the Celebration of Biblical Preaching at Luther Seminary, this conversation is open to the public and definitely intended for everyday Christians. We’ve taken questions in advance from participants and via WorkingPreacher.org and I’ll sift and collate those to lead into what I expect will be a stimulating and hope-filled hour of conversation. Please join us if you can by going to this site at 6:30 CDT. If you can’t, I’ll let you know when we archive the stream so you can watch it later.
