A-Rhythm-Etic

We’re just about smack dab in the middle of Lent, a time when we tone things down in worship and life in order to hear God’s whisper of love in and through the cross of Jesus. For this reason Lent is typically a bit more serious, even somber, than other seasons and worship tends to be a little quieter. Given that, it seemed like the perfect time for a TED Talk on drumming. 🙂

Actually, what caught my attention about this Talk was the infectious enthusiasm of Clayton Cameron and his joyful teaching of math through music and music through math. It’s fun to see the faces of the kids in the audience from time to time during this 6-minute Talk, as they have a hard time not singing along with Clayton. And, if you need just a wee break from the seriousness of Lent, I’d highly recommend this video. And I promise, I won’t tell anyone.
