A Note to Subscribers

Dear Subscribers to “In the Meantime…”,

I wanted to write a short note to say several things:

First and foremost, thank you. Thank you for reading, for subscribing, for following the journey I’ve been on with this blog and for all your comments and various words of encouragement. You make it worth writing every day.

Second, when I put a video in my post, I also place a link under the video to the actual page where the video can be found on the website as I realize the posted videos cannot always be viewed depending on the browsers and email provider in use. But here’s the thing: although I almost never forgot to prepare that link, I sometimes forget to make it active. I have no good excuse, although I notice it happens more frequently when a) life is crazy and I’m rushing to get the post up before the automatic email goes out or b) when life is crazy and I’m operating on just enough of a sleep deficit that I just plain forget. In both cases, I’m sorry for overlooking that and for the hassle it causes you! When I do forget to make the link active — and I suspect that given the crazy pace of life it will happen again 🙂 — there is always a link at the end of the email where you can go to the homepage and find the most recent posts there. (That’s also where you can unsubscribe should that unhappy day ever arrive. )

Third, and just for fun, we are now nearly 4000 strong, which creates quite a tribe, when you think about it, of folks who want to keep working at connecting faith and daily life. But there’s always room for more, so if you know someone you think may be interested in receiving the daily devotions and faith-and-life musings, please don’t hesitate to invite folks to join us. (And for those with responsibility for a church newsletter or website, feel free to let folks know how easy it is to subscribe, particularly as we venture toward Advent devotions, unlikely Christmas carols, and all the rest of this grand season.)

Thank you, again. And blessings on your day and life.
David
