The Vanishing Bandana

It’s been a great week. We hosted nearly 350 preachers at Luther Seminary at our annual Celebration of Biblical Preaching. We had a great time, with wonderful guests including Phyllis Tickle, Brian McLaren, Tom Long, and Grace Imathiu. (And you can still catch the video of the conversation with Phyllis and Brian if you’re interested.) We enjoyed tremendous spirit, lots of great workshops and conversations, and tons of great singing. So it really was a very good week, but also a tiring one. And so on this Friday, I’m ready to six back, relax, and laugh a little. And I hope you are, too.

I don’t even remember where or how I stumbled upon this video earlier this week, but it was just what the doctor ordered. It’s a four-minute recording of Swedish comedian Carl-Einer Hackner at the Melbourne Comedy Festival Allstar Show. Within moments you can see where the gag is going, but it’s still funny, very funny, with a light surprise at the end as well. (Note that, like many comedians, Carl-Einer slides at times from what we might call proper English; but really just once, and if you’re concerned about that, it’s at about 3:50.) It made laugh when I first saw it. And when I watched it again, I laughed some more. I hope you enjoy it as well and that you have a wonderful weekend.
