First Sunday of Lent

We give you thanks, O God, for all things:

For the Spirit that names and affirms, the Spirit that leads and drives, we give you thanks. May we ever heed its call.

For the wilderness periods of our lives that help us grow strong while teaching us not to rely on our strength but on your mercy, we give you thanks. May we surrender to your grace.

For the wild beasts that remind us of your love for all the creatures of the earth, we give you thanks. May we discover ourselves as we care for your creation.

For the angels that attend us and call us back into community, we give you thanks. May we see in one another your holy messengers.

And for your Son, our Lord Jesus, who was tried and tempted on our behalf that he might identify with us in all circumstances, we give you thanks. May we look to him and see your love made flesh.

We give you thanks, O God, for all things. Amen.
